xCAD Application
New York, NY / 2006–2007
Matthew Schnepf concieved as xCAD as a legacy-free, cross-platform, extensible CAD application. It was designed exclusively as a 2D drafting application that would embed smart object properties into the normal workflow to allow for drawings to be interpreted and (re)used beyond the 2D plane. It was aimed to compete directy with AutoCAD on Windows computers and bring seamless interopability to the burgeoning AEC Mac community. The images below offer a snapshot of the conceptual UI design. The project was discontinued in 2007.
